How to Plan an Autumn Baby Shower

Is baby arriving this Fall? Plan an autumn-inspired baby shower for the mother-to-be and her guests. Here are some great tips for decorating, menu planning, and the all-important baby shower games!

• Baby Shower Menu: There are many seasonal fall foods that are perfect to serve at an autumn-themed baby shower including pumpkin shaped spice cake, fall fruit salad, turkey paninis, and pumpkin cream cheese brownies. For a seasonal beverage, apple cider is a fall favorite!

• Baby Shower Decorations: Incorporate fall colors into the color scheme of the shower and carry throughout the party supplies, tableware, linens, etc. For a table centerpiece, carve and hollow out a medium-sized pumpkin, or purchase a small green basket. Add a large bouquet of yellow, orange, and red flowers. Miniature pumpkins and sprigs of fresh cranberries also make great decorations and party favors! Place them all around the room for a festive look at your fall baby shower.

• Baby Shower Games: Have everyone bring a baby picture of themselves dressed up in a Halloween costume. It will be fun to guess who was dressed up as a sunflower and who was dressed up as a ladybug! You can also do a contest to see who guesses the actual birth date — just get a big calendar (or make one yourself), and have guests put their name on the date that they think the new addition will be delivered.
