There isn't much to the recipes for homemade lemonade - it's one of the simplest beverages to make at home yourself. Here are some homemade lemonade recipes to try for yourself.

Basic homemade lemonade recipe:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup squeezed lemon juice (no seeds)
  • 3 to 4 cups cold water

All lemonade begins with simple syrup, which is just diluted sugar in water. It's made by heating sugar and water in a saucepan until the sugar has dissolved. To extract the juice, you'll need 4-6 medium to large lemons. Add the juice and sugar water to a pitcher and add the cold water. Refridgerate just enough to chill and serve when ready.

Recipe for homemade lemonade with real lemons and natural flavors:

  • 4 bags hibiscus tea
  • 2 cups of fresh mint
  • 3 cups basic homemade lemonade

Steep the tea in two cups of boiling water, add the mint and gently mash. Let the mixture cool and discard the tea bags and mint. Combine the tea and lemonade and serve with a sprig of mint and over ice.

Strawberry lemonade:

  • 1/2 pound strawberries (fresh or frozen), halved
  • 2 tbsp. lemon juice
  • 3 cups basic homemade lemonade

Blend the strawberries and lemon juice in a blender. Push through a sieve to remove all the seeds and chunks. Add the puree to the lemonade and serve chilled.
